Packwood, Washington

Marian writes:

Packwood, population around 1500, is on the highway just before entering Mount Rainier National Park. It might be just another little mountain town but a local artist is adding charm for those driving through. He is using his chainsaw to tell the history of the area. The days we drove through he was hard at work on a huge log that had a gold miner hidden in its core. I had to stop and talk with him and he confirmed the other characters along the road were his work too. I got a picture of the logging man. There is also a fireman dressed for forest fire battle at the fire station. Each shop seems to be getting some of his talent to display.

But it’s not only in town you’ll find creative folks. You never know what or who you’ll find when you go for a walk in the woods. I found interesting surprises as I walked in the RV parks.
